Hello ectaco team,
I got an iTravel Thai Talking 2-way Language Communicator .... NTL-2TH. It is not possible to make it "speak" in Thai and there is even no speech recognition in Thai available (menu greyed). English languge is pronounced.
Whats wrong ( Invoice # elnv-183755)?
Regards, Johann

Dear customer;

If entire menu is in gray then, it means that memory (SD) card is misplaced. Open slot on the left, and if card pops out, push it gently inside, until you hear click, and close it back.

Dear Ectaco team,
the translator is working from Eng -> Thai. When I switch over to Thai -> Eng and point to a Thai word, the menu shows only History and Copy highlighted.
I presume a file is missing. How to check?
Thanks
Hans

Dear Ectaco team,
the reset and calibration was already necessary after each SD card movement.
So it did not solve the problem.
I think, another customer (author: Pro24k) in iTravel forum may have the same troubles with the translator.

Dear customer

Please note that the unit doesn't have any Thai TTS. So, it doesn't pronounce the Thai words inside the "Dictionary" section.

Regarding speech recognition

Please note that the Speech Recognition option is available for the "Phrasebook" section only.
The unit is able to translate the preloaded phrases only. Also, you can add 50 phrases to your own profile inside the unit.

Please find the description of that in the user's guide of the unit.

Speech Recognition

The Audio Phrasebook application features speech recognition functionality.

* Open the desired subtopic. You will then see the list of its phrases.

* Press and hold the Microphone button.

* Say your phrase and then release the Microphone button. If the phrase is on the list, the highlight will move to the desired phrase.

Please feel free to download the complete user's guide at http://www.ectaco.com/support/manuals

Dear Ectaco team,

I think you would agree, that your answer is absolute unsatisfactory form me.
First of all you gave advises without going into depths. Second you said this device is not providing TTS.
This is a description of symptoms and not a solution!
In your advertisements – even for your resellers – you are not excluding TTS for Thai language. Isn’t it irritating customers?

I kindly ask you for a solution how to go on or at the very least a compensation.

Regards
Hans

Dear customer,

Please note, that we do not have any advertisements of the NTL-2Th indicating that it has any TTS for Thai language.

It is clearly indicated in the product description that the device has the English speech synthesis for the Dictionary only. You can review it at
