Hello Customer Support,

My iTravel NTL-9C arrived 3 days ago, and I've begun using it to learn Portuguese. However, there are a couple apparently firmware related problems (I'm guessing) that are very annoying.

1. Twice, the unit has only allowed access to the "Fodor" menu page from the main menu buttons - iTranslate, Extras, iHelp, and iTravel. Turning the power button of and then back on did not help. Using the reset button on the back of the unit did not help. Recycling power by removing and reinstalling the battery did not help. Removing and reinstalling the SD card did not help. The unit seemed to "heal itself" after a few hours.

Thank you very much.

Hello again Customer Support,

Here are the other two issues I've observed.

2. The "Recognition Mode" is now stuck on one phrase, which is repeated over and over again, until the program is exited. No other commands are possible. The unit repeats "Speak Slow" in English and the Portuguese over and over and over and over again, with about a 2 second delay. Turning the unit off and then back on did not help. Using the reset button on the back of the unit did not help. Removing and then reinstalling the battery cured the problem, apparently because all the saved settings in unit were wiped out. I could tell this because I'd set the date, time & time zone before, and they were back to default values.

3. As mentioned in another thread - this information is apparently stored in the memory of the unit - why isn't it stored on the SD card or on NVR on the unit? Does this mean that every time the battery is changed, all settings are lost?

Thank you very much

Dear customer

1.
- Charge it for 1,5 hours at least (2 hours is the best time, recommended);
- Charge it every 3-4 days (even if You don’t use the unit);
- Do not charge it more than 4 hours.

2.
take the battery out and leave it to rest for awhile. it would reset any mistake that might occur.

3.
No, to keep your data, connect it to the electric outlet by using your adapter, and then change your battery if needed.

Dear Customer Support,

Thank you for the information. I'll try your suggestions and let you know the results.

Also - I no longer see Dr. Eddy's thread on this forum. Have those issues been resolved?

Thank you,

James Soon
