My ectco freezed, my keyboard does not work       Forum Index -> ECTACO Forum   Autor Message dufalenka Messages: 1 25/07/2008 10:14:35    Subject: My ectco freezed, my keyboard does not work Hi, I got my Talking electronic dictionary and audio phrasebook, ectaco partner, model PW800 (english-slovak) in December 2007, I used it only a few times. Two days ago my dictionary freezed, I could not turn it off, so I took baterry out,put it back. There was sign, that I need to format user disc and I should press Up button to accept or down button to skip. I tried to press up, but keyboard does not work. So, I reset my dictionary and the sign "Hit target with stylus or press enter to skip calibration" appeared. I hit the target 5times and the home page appeared. I thought, everythinh is fine. But the problem is that I can not use keyboard, because it does not work. I can only tapping icons on the screen. Also I can not turn it off. Please help me. Thank you. Press the ON/OFF button and hold it, the screen should be ON 3. Press RESET button (pinhole) with paperclip for a second, while you are holding the ON/OFF button, (the RESET button is on the left upper corner of keyboard panel) 4. The screen turns off and then on 5. Then screen shows: Main Menu, Load Firmware, Back Up Firmware 6. Press Load Firmware with stylus 7. You see the message on the screen: Select package P 800 V and numbers Cancel 8. The screen shows the message(window): Burn in Progress 10.Then another message appears: Info Burn process complete OK 11.Press OK 12.Then once again press the RESET button for a second without pressing ON/OFF button 13.The screen turns off and on again 14.You see the Calibration Screen Message: Hit the Target with the Stylus or press ENTER to skip calibration 15.Hit(press) the target (small square with cross) with stylus exactly in the center, which appears one by one in every corner of the screen going round clock and in the center of the screen 16.After completing the screen calibration the DEVICE is ready to work.
