All of your personal and financial information including credit card number, name and address is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. For additional security of credit card transactions, no charges will be made to your account until we obtain a confirmation of the order from you.

For purchases made at our website we accept Visa, MasterCard/EuroCard, Discover and American Express credit cards, bank transfers and PayPal.

If you wish to pay by credit card please place an order via our website. All information is transferred to our server in secure mode. If you order a handheld dictionary, no charges will be made to your account until we obtain order confirmation from you. Most software orders are charged automatically.

To protect your security, we may take additional steps before approving an order. We will usually request confirmation of the billing address of your card before we can dispatch products to an alternative shipping address. All dictionary orders within Australia and New Zealand qualify for free shipping. Delivery time depends on the destination and normally takes 3-4 business days.
Please note that we cannot ship orders to P.O. box addresses. If the order form contains a P.O. box as the shipping address you will be asked to provide a physical address.

If accessories are purchased separately from dictionaries, shipping charges will apply.

We provide free shipping to the USA, Canada, Western Europe and Asia, except Saudi Arabia (AUD 32). Shipping to South America is AUD 12. Shipping to countries in Eastern Europe is charged at AUD 32. Delivery to Russia and Ukraine costs AUD 45. Most orders are shipped from the US.

The customer is responsible for paying any import duties (if applicable) on the product(s) purchased.

The software available on this site is provided in downloadable form although some products may be provided on CD for an additional charge. Delivery time depends on the courier service and normally takes 5-7 business days. Express delivery options are not available for software CDs.

Goods purchased from us can be returned within 7 days from the date of receipt. The goods should be returned in the original packaging and without any damage to hardware or software. All returned items are subject to a 6.5% restocking fee. The goods are shipped from the customer at his expense. The shipping & handling cost shall be deducted from the sum due for refund. Software products are NOT refundable.
Australia.ectaco.com is currently unable to accept returns of merchandise without its original packaging and accessories or items for return postmarked by the sender any later than 7 days after the date of the original delivery.

In the unlikely event that a product is lost or damaged in transit, you must contact us in writing as soon as possible

ECTACO, Inc. ("ECTACO") warrants to the end user that its products will be free of defects in material and craftsmanship for a period of ONE YEAR from the date of original retail purchase, as evidenced by a sales receipt. If any defect occurs, the user must return the product either to the dealer or directly to one of the ECTACO offices. ECTACO will, at its option, repair or replace the product at no charge.

This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse or as a result of service by any other party.

Except for the limited warranties above, this product is provided on an "as is" basis, without any other warranties or conditions, express or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantable quality, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, or those arising by law, statute, usage of trade, or course of dealing. This warranty applies only to products manufactured by ECTACO and does not include batteries, etc. Any damages caused by batteries are not covered by this warranty. Neither ECTACO nor our dealers or suppliers shall have any liability for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, loss of revenue or profit, lost or damaged data or other commercial or economic loss, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages, or they are otherwise foreseeable. We are also not responsible for claims by a third party. Our maximum aggregate liability to you, and that of our dealers and suppliers, shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the ECTACO product as evidenced by your purchase receipt. If the laws of the relevant jurisdiction do not permit full waiver of implied warranties, then the duration of implied warranties and conditions are limited to the duration of the express warranty granted herein.
